In this activity, students act as a social media manager for a client. They must determine if there is a linear relationship between the days since their client has made a post, and the amount of likes/views the post receives.
Students must have access to social media to complete this activity as they will be collecting data on a celebrity, influencer, or brand of their choosing. They will utilize desmos to create a scatter plot of the data and determine the line of best fit. They will also be asked to interpret the correlation coefficient and coefficient of determination in context.
At the conclusion of the activity they will prepare a brief for their client. They will interpret and analyze the data in order to make strategic insights and informed predictions regarding post popularity moving forward.
